Charles begun his auctioneering career at Christies in London before going on to establish Hansons Auctioneers in 2005. His charmingly enthusiastic manner has seen him preside over prestigious celebrity and fund raising auctions across the UK including a highly entertaining event for Salus Fatigue Foundation. He continues to film with the BBC shows The Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, alongside the ever-popular ‘Bargain Hunt’ where he appears as both expert and auctioneer.
Anita’s 26-year media career with the BBC has been varied; from being one of the first regionally based bi-media correspondents to being Head of the BBC’s Public Space Broadcasting. She has also presented Channel 4’s Eastern Eye and other national programmes. Anita is currently Chair of Performances Birmingham Ltd (Town Hall and Symphony Hall), Chair of the Creative City Partnership, Board member of the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP and recent past Chair of MAC (Midlands Arts Centre).
After 3 years as a teacher Inge worked for 15 years in professional practice as a Chartered Accountant, including 4 years as a partner. She then spent 11 years as a director in Social Housing Companies before taking early retirement in 2007. Inge has also spent more than 10 years as a charity trustee, held two roles as Chair of the Board and served 2 years as a member of the Homes and Communities Agency Regulation Committee. During her career Inge was also very active in the development of youth hockey.
I have been a parent governor at Coppice Primary School since 2005 and was re-elected by parents in 2009. I have two children; one who has recently left Coppice for secondary school and one who is currently in Year 4. I have been involved in all levels of recruitment for the school and I am Chair of the Curriculum Committee which is responsible for ensuring the national curriculum is delivered together with the local curriculum.
Christine is a GP in the local area. She became ill with a virus in February 2010 and did not recover as expected. She was eventually diagnosed with M.E. The turning point in her recovery was after attending a support group meeting of the Salus Fatigue Foundation. With the support & guidance of Linda & Ron and other members of the group she recovered enough to resume working in February 2011 and she is now well on her way to a full recovery.
Rod is professionally qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (ACIB) and worked for Barclays Bank Plc for over 30 years. 20 of which were in managerial roles. For his last five years at the bank, he worked as an Inspector in the Legal Department, managing litigation and giving advice.
For 10 years Rod was the Responsible Officer on the Board of Governors at Streetlight School, overseeing the budget and financial controls, and from 2002 until 2009 was the Honorary Secretary at Sutton Coldfield Golf Club.
