About Salus

Salus Fatigue Foundation is a registered charity providing a unique lifeline for people and their families and friends affected by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (CFS/ME)/Fibromyalgia and fatigue related conditions.

Our vision:

A world in which every person affected by Chronic Fatigue has access to positive support and the opportunity to participate in all aspects of life.

Funded by our own fundraising activities and grants from The Big Lottery Fund and Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust, Salus aims to promote and protect the good health of people who live with chronic fatigue and related conditions, their families, friends and carers in particular but not exclusively through advice, support and health and wellbeing educational workshops.

Over the years, the delivery of our work has been shaped by local need, with our beneficiaries having a direct involvement in helping to develop all the activities that we provide.

Using our experiences of developing and delivering long-term support, education and advice to people affected by this very misunderstood and silent condition, our services provide a life changing experience. A life changed can mean a whole family and community helped.

From our work we know the devastating impact that CFS/ME/FM and fatigue related conditions can have on peoples’ lives, both physically and psychologically. We listen, learn and act on the things that matter to people and give them access to our specialised support programme to maintain and restore their health and wellbeing. Our beneficiaries are equipped and engaged through access to support and education to continually grow their confidence to face challenges and future opportunities.

You can benefit from the Salus Programme, wherever you are in the country and whatever stage you are at in your recovery, through our national online support services and through joining our Closed Facebook Group. We are governed by a Board of Trustees appointed on the basis of their skills and experience. They bring a range of knowledge and understanding to follow and fulfil our objectives and outcomes.

Our Mission:

Salus Fatigue Foundation helps to improve people’s lives affected by Chronic Fatigue through taking positive steps together.

Salus’ services are provided by qualified health practitioners which are delivered under The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines, a Department of Health sponsored body, whose aim is to develop quality standards to help prevent ill health and promote healthier lifestyles.

Salus does not provide, advocate or promote the use of services that claim to provide a cure, or imply they provide medically approved relief, from symptoms experienced through CFS/ME and fatigue related conditions.
